Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the deterioration of kidney function that can be caused many things. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symptoms of Chronic Kidney Disease<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  • Protein in your urine<\/span><\/li>
  • Bubbles in your urine<\/span><\/li>
  • Swelling<\/span><\/li>
  • Feeling fatigue and heavy more often<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    When you should consult a specialist<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n

    If your annual physical shows there is protein or blood in your urine, or that your kidney function is low, consult a nephrologist. <\/span><\/p>\n

    When you come to us, we will run urine test, blood work and abdominal ultrasound, and from there we can determine your course of treatment. Since high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes are also correlated to kidney disease, we will check for those too.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If a kidney biopsy is necessary, we will refer you to a specialized hospital.<\/p>\n

    Furthermore, dietary therapy is important when it comes to kidney disease. Depending on the stage of the CKD, you might need to control protein and potassium intake. If that is the case, we will schedule you to consult with our nutritionist.<\/p>\n\n\n
